Our Story

In February of 1988, brothers Rick, Doug, and Mike Long introduced RDM Industrial Electronics to the remanufacturing industry. Beginning in the basement of a house by remanufacturing electronic boards, tank monitors, and printers, the company now boasts over 80 employees in a state of the art facility of 35,000 square feet.

Youngest brother, Mike, passed away leaving Rick and Doug Long as co-presidents of RDM. Combined with a proficient sales team and experienced technicians and engineers, RDM proves its advantages in the industry. The majority of RDM technicians have 10-20 years of experience, “in a lot of cases, more experience than the manufacturers”, owner Doug Long points out.

Through the years, RDM has expanded both physically, with numerous building projects, and with credibility in the industries we serve. Among our expansions, the purchase of a business in Lakewood, Colorado, and new branches in Florida, Indiana, Texas and Pennsylvania have allowed RDM to grow nationwide.

Known for our superior customer service, RDM prides itself in being the easiest company to deal with in the industry. The personal relationships we have built with our customers over the years are incredibly telling of the way we do business.

Because RDM products are remanufactured, they are sold at a fraction of the cost of new products. That does not, however, imply that we cannot remanufacture newer products. RDM buys new products released from manufacturers so that we can be prepared for customer needs. “We’ll be up to speed on that piece of equipment before it even comes out of warranty”, owner Doug Long says. Customers can be assured that parts sent in for repair will be available very quickly.

RDM thrives on being the most reliable and trustworthy business in the industry. “We have the products that any distributor would need”, says owner Rick Long. In addition, RDM is ever-expanding our product lines. Our technicians and engineers are not limited to repairing a small variety of products. We are always looking to increase our expertise and are open to working on new products at the customer’s request.
